Celebrating Earth Day 2012 in Northern Delaware
Earlier in the day, a large group of environmentalists gathered to collect debris from the Christina River Watershed, whose waters provide three-fourths of the water in the New Castle County, Delaware, public water supply. Every year local and regional groups volunteer to clean up the watershed area. It is always surprising to hear about how much debris is actually collected. This year the groups disposed of over 20 tons of discarded tires, appliances, and trash gathered from the watershed in just one day!
More Earth Day Events continue on Sunday in the northern Delaware area. Everyone is welcome to participate, so join in to help make these and other local events a success!
